Under the vision of Dr. N. Mahalingam and A. V. Giri, the Chairman of Sakthi Group and the brother-in-law of Dr. N. M. respectively, ABT Parcel Service was started in October 1964.
The division was started with just 4 vehicles in its fleet. Pursuing growth and success, it acquired "The Hindustan Transports" in 1965 by adding 22 more vehicles through acquisition.
Since then, the numbers have been growing and now boasting more than 350 company-owned containerized vehicles and having an annual travelled distance of 216 lakh kilometres.
Today, ABT Parcel Service is providing employment to over 2000 people directly and 5000 people indirectly, including more than 500 very reliable and trustworthy agents operating under 11 logistics hubs across Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat.
The company has a fleet size of 600 trucks taking more than 120 routes spanning across eight states and carries more than 1,00,00,000 articles weighing 2,50,000 tonnes worth Rs. 4000 crores every year. With the integration of our very own revolutionary GPS Fleet Management software, GPS Geektrac, these vehicles are fitted with the latest of technology for effective real-time tracking and efficient consignment transfers based on vehicle data.
